Hi my name is Chris Cocking and Im a web developer with 10 years of experience in LAMP and .NET web application development. My language specialties include C#.net, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, Javascript/AJAX/JQuery, and ActionScript 2.0/3.0, as well as data modeling and client/server data transactions.

I think I could really be helpful in developing web systems for Mission Control and perhaps also for Development Groupware.

Im looking to help in any way I can and am totally psyched to be counted amongst you all in this historic effort.

For anyone who is interested, my intro is here. I didn't see this sticky until after I'd posted it, otherwise I would have put it as a reply here.

Hi,
My name is Luis Ontanon.

I work as a UMTS Core Network Troubleshooter (NGN/MGw specialist) having done both field and rollout support as well as testing (functional, integration and interoperability) for a mayor european telecom equipment manufacturer.

I'm a core developer of the free network protocol analyzer Wireshark (http://wiki.wireshark.org/LuisOntanon).

I'm fluent in C/C++ (more C than ++), Perl, Python and Lua and adapt easily to other programing languages.

I have good understanding of network protocols, in the "general" Internet family as well as (I used to work as an ISP SysAd) as well as VoIP many multimedia applications. I'm very good at understanding standards and specifications.

I'm a knowledgeable *nix SysAd having worked with Linux, *BSD, Solaris.

I have some experience programming microcontrollers (on Atmel AVR, using GNU's toolchain).

I fluently speak Spanish, English and Italian.

Hi Alex,
We are very active with a mockup called Mark-I lander. We want to fly very soon. We need some simulations. Could you help us, it could be a starting point for other more complex issues in the future. If not take a look at:

Hi all,

my name is Federico Martini and I'm from Modena, Italy. I'm an Automation Engineer with 3+ years experience as Software Engineer in a R&D Division for Automotive and Infomobility embedded applications.
During these years, I've implemented firmware/software applications for RTOS vxWorks (with PPC-based boards), Embedded Linux and Solaris systems used in complex distributed systems for Motorways and other customers based on access control system, but I've also used OS-Less systems based on Fujitsu microcontrollers for automotive dashboards.
In some of my projects, I've implemented remote device control systems in order to be able to drive hardware and devices.
Moreover, I've also experience with DSP-based Software development for Image Elaboration, data logging systems and communication protocol development.
My primary programming languages are C and C++, but I'm also good with JAVA, HTML and PHP.
About tools for mathematical calculation, I've experience with MATLAB, Simulink, State Flow and Real-Time Workshop.

I will keep my WIKI status page updated.

Finally, I'm a fan of Space Applications and furthermore I'm a really convinced supporter of Open Source Software philosophy, so I feel enthusiastic about this project.
I'm really excited to have the opportunity to actively contribute to the project, so I'm going to start reading documentation and Wiki site.

Contact me at martini(dot)f(at)gmail(dot)com if you have some request or suggestion.

Cheers,
FM

I think we need to be a little more direct in getting people engaged. We need to make existing tasks clear and easy to find (imho).

Hi,

My name is Anderson, I'm from São Paulo, Brazil. I am a recent graduate from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) with a degree in Electronics Engineering with emphasis on Computation.
I have very good skills in C/C++ and Java programming, SQL, database modeling, software/hardware architectures and also in software engineering. I have also worked with microcontrolers and have good bases in electronics. All those skills were acquired during graduation as I have never really worked for a company (only in traineeships).
Moreover I have a second graduation in France, were I could study Industrial systems for 2 years. Therefore I have some experience with ARENA (Rockwell) and very good project management skills.
As for myself, I'm a very fast learner and I have very solid bases in mathematics and physics.

I'm fluent in Portuguese, English, French and (almost) in Spanish

The idea of space exploration excites me a lot as I am an astronomy lover. I hove I can use my various skills to help this project move on!

Hello Team,

My name is Ahmed I am Technology Director for a non profit organization in St Louis Mo called Computer Village.
We provide basic to advance technology training in the areas of computer technology, robotics, renewable energy technology etc. I recently found out about this site from some colleagues of mine hear locally through the St Louis Science Center / Challenger Learning Centers. I was astonish to find a open source project of this type just waiting for me to participate. I am a great fan and supporter of Open Source , and myself have greatly benefited from ground breaking technologies coming through such open source projects Ive work on in the past such as open source telephony software and routing protocols for large and small projects. I like to thank the members of this community for providing an outlet for space enthusiast like me in our conquest of space and its unexplored technologies. I have a strong background in various programming languages, i.e. C#,C++, Delphi, PHP, MYSQL, and assembly language. I am currently working with local colleagues of mine on various ideas to further our mission of someday participating in one of man's greatest accomplishments space exploration and colonization. Once again I like to greet everyone in peace for this opportunity to work on such exciting endeavor.

Good Luck on our mission and hope to meet all the great minds of this team some day:)

Peace
Ahmed

Ahmed,

If you are interested in joining the effort to development the ground support software, drop me an e-mail.

We are working on demoing rover operations using our LEGO NxT participants. Need need additional support - so if you know anyone - send them along too.

Hi!

I'm a student from Latvia.

I'm very interested in space exploration and would like to contribute my help to this project.

I have Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences with all related academic knowledge, mostly in developing IT systems. I have also a little experience in C++/Java, Visual Basic, XML, GUI (though I'm totally not a designer, just by nature), HTML, CSS, PHP and some other stuff. But the real work experience that I have relates to support of a financial IT system in the very specific environment (the support should be understood here as a continuous development rather than support of blond operators; though both positions have it own advantages :) ).

I have growing interest in embedded systems, robotics and communications. Also with no experience, but I'm open to learn something new.

I'm not sure at this moment what to start with and I would be glad for any guide :)

Thanks,
Aleksandr

Hi Aleksandr,

I suggest you visit wiki.TeamFREDNET.org first to get an idea of some of the robotics projects that are in progress. I know that the PicoRover group is working on improvements to the controller code, and Joerg may want some help with programming for the WRV-1 / WRV-2.
